The project Portuguese as a Non-Native Language: Between words and smiles, promoted by the Multidisciplinary Team for Educational Support (EMAE) of the Municipality of Ponte de Lima, has resumed its activities in the county's schools, aiming to support over forty migrant students.

Under the motto “learning by playing too,” the municipal team has returned to different schools within the county's clusters. The goal is to support the learning of migrant children from preschool and the first cycle, in small multicultural groups.
These initiatives aim to foster sharing, respect, and curiosity regarding the linguistic and cultural backgrounds of the students, their peers, and the host country.
Through diverse dynamics and intentionally structured intervention proposals, the Municipality of Ponte de Lima hopes not only to enhance students' communicative skills in Portuguese but also to provide learning experiences in multicultural environments, surrounded by tolerance and empathy.
