The Consumer Information Centre (CIAC), in collaboration with the Directorate-General for Consumer Defence (DGC), has released tips to mark World Food Day, promoting the reduction of food waste.

As part of World Food Day, celebrated on October 16th, the DGC shared a set of simple tips on its social media channels for correctly organizing the refrigerator. These measures aim to promote food safety and minimize unnecessary waste.
Proper food storage contributes to better preservation, helps prevent health risks, and avoids waste. The ideal refrigerator temperature should be between 0°C and 5°C, and it is also important to store each type of food in the most suitable zone of the appliance.
The DGC, as the entity responsible for consumer information and protection, joins this occasion, reminding that small daily gestures can make a difference for more responsible and sustainable consumption.
