The 7th National Congress of Clinical Physiology, themed “Clinical Physiology 2.0: Science, Technology, and Humanization in the Digital Age,” brought together 300 participants at the Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde da Universidade Politécnica de Coimbra (ESTeSC-UPCoimbra) on October 23 and 24, 2026.

The event, organized by ESTeSC-UPCoimbra in collaboration with other public higher education institutions for Clinical Physiology in Portugal, focused on the balance between healthcare humanization and the increasing use of artificial intelligence.
Aimed at students, faculty, professionals, and internship supervisors, the congress featured national and international speakers. Topics included the use of wearables in clinical practice, the automation of diagnostic test reports, and home patient monitoring.
Particular emphasis was placed on issues related to neurodivergence, in both health and educational contexts, promoting awareness and combining scientific reflection with sensitization for social causes.
On the first day of the congress, five pre-congress courses were held in the areas of Cardiopneumology and Neurophysiology, covered by the Clinical Physiology degree.
