Three representatives from Mirandela, Elisabete Rosa, Elisabete Clemente, and Delfina Alves, have qualified for the grand final of the 1st edition of the Inter-municipal Senior Reading Competition, following a selection held last Friday, October 23rd.

The initiative, promoted by the Inter-municipal Network of Libraries of Terra de Trás-os-Montes (RIBTTM), challenges participants over 65 years old to give voice to the work «Tempo de Fogo», by the Trás-os-Montes writer Amadeu Ferreira. The selection took place in the Sala Sarmento Pimentel at the Mirandela Cultural Center.
More than a competition, this contest celebrates the pleasure of reading, active aging, and the appreciation of Trás-os-Montes literature and culture, highlighting the importance of local literature.
The grand final will be held on November 17th in Miranda do Douro. The three representatives from Mirandela will demonstrate their expressive reading and interpretation skills before the audience and the jury.
The Municipality of Mirandela congratulated the qualified participants and wished them the greatest success in this decisive stage of the competition.
