The Lamego College hosted, on November 5th, the public awareness exercise for seismic risk, "A Terra Treme". The initiative, promoted by the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC), involved the collaboration of the Lamego Municipal Civil Protection Service, Volunteer Firefighters, PSP, and the school's teaching staff.
At 11:05 AM, to the sound of the emergency siren, the school community performed the three fundamental self-protection actions during an earthquake: drop, cover, and hold on. Subsequently, the building was orderly evacuated to the pre-defined meeting point, where a final assessment of the activity was made.
The main objective is to empower the population, especially the younger generations, to know how to act before, during, and after an earthquake, reinforcing the idea that safety is a collective responsibility.
