The gathering was attended by the Mayor of Boticas, Guilherme Pires, accompanied by councilor Paulo Miguel Pereira. The initiative provided an afternoon of entertainment and camaraderie, bringing participants together in a joyful atmosphere, with moments of fun, music, and dance, strengthening bonds of fellowship and friendship.
Participants presented the Municipality of Boticas with a framed map of the council, created by themselves as part of the project's activities. This symbolic gesture represents the seniors' involvement, creativity, and spirit of participation.
The project's funding, under the Norte 2030 program, concludes in October. However, the Boticas Municipal Council will ensure the project's continuation through municipal funding, reaffirming its commitment to promoting the well-being, autonomy, and quality of life of the council's elderly population.
The project's main objective is to promote active and healthy aging, combating social isolation by organizing physical, cultural, and social activities, contributing to a more active, participatory, and autonomous life for the seniors of the Boticas council.
