At the welcome session, the President of the Câmara Municipal de Ponte de Lima, Eng.º Vasco Ferraz, highlighted the importance of the grape, considering it "one of our brands with the greatest identity and prestige," and praised the contribution of farmers, producers, merchants, and educational institutions such as the Escola Profissional de Agricultura e Desenvolvimento Rural de Ponte de Lima and the Escola Superior Agrária to its fame and value.
The opening ceremony, held at Palacete Villa Moraes, featured the talk «Vinho, comida, civilização» (Wine, food, civilization), with Miguel Poiares Maduro and Alexandra Prado Coelho, and a live recording of the podcast «Cultas e Vinho Verde» (Cultured and Green Wine), with Fátima Alçada and hosted by Inês Meneses, exploring the connection between wine and the territory's identity and culture.
