The Municipality of Vieira do Minho is holding an official rabies vaccination and pet identification campaign from October 20th to 30th, covering all parishes in the municipality.

The initiative, part of the rabies and other zoonoses prophylaxis program, aims to prevent the spread of diseases and promote public health and animal welfare. Vaccinations will be carried out according to the schedule defined by the Official Service, under the responsibility of veterinarian Alexandra Pereira de Castro Ferreira, appointed head of the Official Rabies Vaccination Service for the municipality.
Throughout the scheduled days, the team will visit different locations, with vaccination points at reference sites such as churches, chapels, parish councils, squares, and other spaces defined in the official calendar. To find out the specific times and locations for each parish, residents should consult the information boards at the respective Parish Councils. The full schedule will soon be available on the Municipality's social media and website.
The Municipality urges pet owners to participate in this campaign, emphasizing the importance of rabies vaccination in preventing diseases and protecting animals, families, and the entire community.
Additionally, rabies vaccination and registration in the Companion Animal Information System (SIAC) can also be done on the first Monday of each month, between 2:30 PM and 5:00 PM, at the Forest Park, subject to applicable fees.
