The Polytechnic University of Santarém welcomed a delegation from the Federal Institute of Paraná (IFPR), comprising students and faculty from various Brazilian campuses, for a short-term exchange visit. The program aimed at academic mobility, fostering connections between researchers, developing future joint research, and strengthening institutional cooperation. The delegation was received by the Rector of the Polytechnic University of Santarém, João Moutão, and by representatives from the University's different Schools, including a visit to the headquarters of RIAL – International Academic Network of Lusophony.
A key moment of the visit took place at the ConceptLab, within the School of Management and Technology, where eight projects developed by IFPR students were presented to an international jury composed of members from the Polytechnic University of Santarém and the Federal Institute of Paraná.
“"O Corpo Grita"
The winning project was “O Corpo Grita” (The Body Cries Out), by Ana Carolina Gavlak from Campus Campo Largo. The initiative uses dance as a space for expression and critical reflection on adolescence, the body, self-image, and the construction of critical thinking.
Two Honorable Mentions were also awarded: “Aproveitamento de resíduo da agroindústria de polpa para extração e caracterização físico-química do óleo de maracujá azedo” (Utilization of pulp agro-industry residue for extraction and physicochemical characterization of passion fruit oil), by Yasmim Alcântara Saad from Campus Jacarezinho, which combines research, sustainability, and the valorization of agro-industrial waste; and “JoinBike – Promovendo Saúde, Segurança e Sustentabilidade sobre Duas Rodas” (Promoting Health, Safety, and Sustainability on Two Wheels), by Vitória Vieira da Silva from Campus Colombo, a technological solution aimed at sustainable mobility and creating safer, more connected cyclist communities.
This initiative reflects a shared vision of bringing institutions closer, connecting knowledge, talent, and territories, and creating opportunities for cross-border collaboration for projects, students, and researchers.
