The Municipality of Paredes has reinforced its collection point network with the installation of 30 new points for domestic cooking oil (OAU), distributed across the parish councils of the municipality.

With the aim of encouraging the recycling of this waste, which can cause serious environmental damage if improperly disposed of, the local authority intends to make the process more practical, accessible, and convenient for thousands of citizens. The initiative seeks to transform used oil into new energy solutions, contributing to the circular economy.
To recycle, residents should let the oil cool, store it in a tightly closed plastic bottle, and deposit it in the nearest collection point. From there, the company EcoMovimento handles the process of managing the waste for valorization.
This action represents another step by the Paredes Municipal Council in its commitment to sustainability and climate action.
