The University of Porto welcomed the 12 new students selected to join the European University Alliance for Global Health (EUGLOH) Student Committee, in a meeting held at the Abel Salazar Building.

The session, held on October 8th, aimed primarily to welcome and integrate the new committee members, who come from eight U.Porto faculties and have diverse academic backgrounds. The meeting provided an initial introduction to the Alliance's structure, mission, and strategic priorities, as well as participation and collaboration opportunities.
Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Strategic Planning, Joana Resende, welcomed the participants, contextualizing EUGLOH's importance within the U.Porto's internationalization strategy. This was followed by a presentation of the Alliance, its vision, objectives, and governance model, with particular emphasis on the organization and contribution of the various Work Packages of the EUGLOH 2.0 project.
Opportunities provided by participation in the Local Student Board were also discussed, including involvement in the Alliance's initiatives, contact with students from other European universities, and contributing to the development of an international, collaborative, and interdisciplinary academic community.
The EUGLOH2PLUS project, recently approved by the European Commission under the European Universities initiative of the Erasmus+ program, was also presented, focusing on its main objectives and organizational structure. This allowed students to understand EUGLOH's development priorities and how different intervention areas contribute to the continuity and expansion of cooperation among partner universities.
The role and functioning of the Student Committee, including members' responsibilities, communication channels, and collaborative work, were also detailed, along with the communication tools used by the group.
