SEMENTE – Associação de Voluntários da LIPOR, with support from PreZero through the SOMA-TE Program, developed the "Renascer das Cinzas" project. This initiative aims to support communities affected by the 2024 fires and promote the prevention of future disasters.
Within this project's framework, the "Bombeiro Super-Herói" event was created in collaboration with regional fire departments. The goal is to bring these professionals closer to the community and conduct awareness and prevention actions against fires.
The session, held on October 9th, focused on the role of firefighters in the community. Representatives from the Corporação de Bombeiros Voluntários de Areosa-Rio Tinto, the Corporação de Bombeiros Voluntários de Ermesinde, and the Corporação de Bombeiros Voluntários de Moreira da Maia participated.
During the meeting, firefighters shared their experiences, challenges, and stories, highlighting their role as "Super-Heroes" in combating fires and responding to emergencies.
As a token of appreciation for their daily work, each of the three participating fire departments received a donation of 1,000 euros. SEMENTE hopes this initiative will contribute to a more informed, participatory, and resilient society.
