The Dr. Joaquim Manso Museum, located in Nazaré, hosted the opening session of the new academic year for the Nazaré Senior University on October 13th. This event marked the return to educational, cultural, and social activities aimed at the municipality's senior population.
The initiative served to kick off another cycle focused on learning and sharing knowledge and experiences, emphasizing the importance of active participation by seniors in the community's cultural and social life.
Following the opening ceremony, students had the opportunity to participate in a guided tour of the Dr. Joaquim Manso Museum. The tour was led by the museum's coordinator, Dr. Mário Bulhões, and provided a moment for discovery and appreciation of local cultural heritage and history.
Throughout the academic year, the Senior University will offer a diverse range of disciplines. These will cover areas such as music, arts, physical activity, languages, computing, and well-being, also including initiatives related to poetry, civil protection, and horticulture.
The new academic year promises new opportunities for personal discovery and development, in an environment that fosters curiosity, the sharing of experiences, and social interaction among participants.
