Póvoa de Varzim marked National Pilgrim Day on October 13th with events at the Interactive Tourism Shop and Torrões Tourism Post, focusing on the municipality's devotion traditions.

Póvoa de Varzim celebrated National Pilgrim Day on October 13th through a series of initiatives held at the Interactive Tourism Shop (LIT) and the Torrões Tourism Post. These events were dedicated to pilgrims and the rich tradition of devotion that defines the municipality's identity.
Pilgrimages to religious destinations such as Nossa Senhora de Fátima, Nossa Senhora da Saúde, Santo André das Almas, Beata Alexandrina, and Santiago de Compostela were particularly highlighted at the LIT. Mannequins dressed in attire related to each of these religious routes were displayed to illustrate the diversity of devotions.
At both locations, spaces titled “Histórias dos Caminhos” (Stories of the Paths) were created. These spaces invited pilgrims to share a sentence about their experiences, aiming to gather personal testimonies and value the motivations, experiences, and memories of those who travel these spiritual itineraries.
Throughout the day, visitors were offered the traditional pilgrim's scallop shells for Santiago and personalized wristbands with the same theme. Additionally, they had the opportunity to taste local pastries, enriching the cultural and gastronomic experience.
