The Interdisciplinary Dialogues session, titled «The Misericórdias of the Municipality of Nisa: Amieira do Tejo and Arez», was attended by the President of the Municipal Chamber of Nisa, Dr. José Dinis Serra, and Councillor Dr. José Leandro Semedo.
During the meeting, presentations were made addressing the history and role of Misericórdias in welfare in Portugal, as well as the institutional history and artistic heritage of the Misericórdias in Amieira do Tejo and Arez.
The program also included a guided tour of the Misericórdia chapels in both localities, allowing direct contact with a heritage that testifies to centuries of history, devotion, and community action.
These initiatives aim not only to understand the past but also to preserve collective memory, enhance heritage, and strengthen territorial identity, transforming Regional and Local History into an important resource for knowledge, culture, and Historical Tourism.
