Clube Gavionense presented itself with 14 players and assistant Bruno Baía as an alternative for the goal, at the Estádio Francisco Palmeiro in Arronches, to face Sport Arronches e Benfica in the 1st round of the AF Portalegre Honor Cup. The final score was 3-1, reflecting the superiority of the home team, led by player-coach João Sousa. The Gavião team, under new coach Pedro Canário, had only three training sessions after the departure of coach Fernando Lopes. The previous coach led the team in the first official match of the season, in the Portuguese Cup against Mação, where Gavião lost 5-0. Pre-season preparations began in August, with the team facing the unavailability of players such as goalkeeper Telmo and forward Alexandre Ferreira, in addition to midfielder Patacas for the match in Arronches.
On September 21, 22, and 23, the parish of Atalaia celebrated its annual festival at the Polidesportivo José Júlio Delgado Cabeça, attracting thousands of people. The event featured musical performances and the presence of many Atalaia residents who now live elsewhere. The festival included the traditional "garraiada" (a bull-running event) and a sueca (card game) tournament on the final day, bringing together people from various parishes in the municipality.
