Clube Gavionense presented itself this Sunday at the Estádio Francisco Palmeiro, in Arronches, to face Sport Arronches e Benfica in the 1st round of the AF Portalegre Taça de Honra, suffering a 3-1 defeat.

With only 14 players and one substitute, Bruno Baía, as an alternative for the goal, the Gavião team could not overcome the superiority of Sport Arronches e Benfica, managed by player-coach João Sousa.
Under the guidance of the new coach, Pedro Canário, the Gavião team arrived in Arronches after only three training sessions. The team faced complicated weeks since the departure of the previous coach, Fernando Lopes, who still managed the club in the first official match of the season in the Taça de Portugal, where they lost 5-0 against Mação.
Preparation for the season began in August, with the aim of competing in the Taça de Portugal. However, the team suffered significant absences, including goalkeeper Telmo and forward Alexandre Ferreira, in addition to the unavailability of midfielder Patacas for this game.
The list of players present included, in the second row (left to right): Nuno Coxinho, Daniel, Vasco, Gomito, Kyami, Duarte Basílio, Victor, Arthur, Bruno, Pedro Canário, Fernando Severino. In the first row: Gregório, Leo, Rivaldo, Tiago, Kani, João Sousa, and Bruno Baía.
