The University of Lisbon (ULisboa) has opened applications for four Portugal-Brazil PhD scholarships, under an existing partnership protocol between the scientific infrastructure PRISC and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.

The research scholarships are intended for those who are already enrolled or meet the necessary conditions to enroll in a doctoral study program at a university within the PRISC infrastructure. This infrastructure brings together ULisboa, the University of Porto, and the University of Coimbra through their museums and botanical gardens, in collaboration with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, through its National Museum, and FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.
The scientific areas open for applications in this 2nd edition are: Anthropology and Archaeology, focusing on the study of collections and innovative perspectives in exhibition, education, mediation, and critical approaches; Geodiversity, paleodiversity, and biodiversity, particularly concerning the history of the Earth and its past and present biodiversity, with an emphasis on valuing associated scientific collections and data; Science Communication, addressing the various issues of science dissemination and communication in museum contexts, including citizen science; and History of Science, especially in the domains of the role of museums, collections, and objects in the development of sciences, and the history of scientific collections and museums.
