Feira Viva launched its second children's book, 'O Sonho de Perlim', at the Escola de Vendas Novas, in Fiães, Santa Maria da Feira, reinforcing the importance of fantasy and reading in education.

The book O Sonho de Perlim, inspired by Perlim's magical universe, was presented today at the Escola de Vendas Novas, in Fiães. The initiative aims to promote contact with books and stimulate imagination from childhood.
Paulo Sérgio Pais, executive director of Feira Viva, highlighted the importance of linking magic with learning. "We want Perlim to be much more than a Christmas experience. Through these stories, we seek to awaken children's curiosity, encourage a love for reading, and show that one can also learn to dream, imagine, and discover the world playfully," he stated.
With text by Clara Guedes Pinto and illustrations by Raquel Pinheiro, the story follows Fairy Piri's attempt to fulfill the dream of the Snow Valley Queen, with Santa Claus's help. It is a narrative about hope, empathy, and perseverance.
Clara Guedes Pinto emphasized the need to bring adults closer to children's emotional universe, stressing that "reading with children is also listening to them. And, often, it is in their dreams that we find what they need us to take seriously."
With an initial print run of three thousand copies, the book has been available since October 16th at Loja Vila da Feira, and its national distribution is handled by Areal Editores. All schools in the municipality will receive a free copy.
