Organized by the Serrano Futebol Clube, with support from the Municipality of Silves and the Parish Council of São Marcos da Serra, the festival aims to promote local flavors and knowledge, boosting the inland area of the municipality and preserving traditions.
Over the three days, visitors can sample typical mountain dishes such as jantarinho de grão com galinha, migas de leitão, ensopado de javali, milhos com carne de porco, miolos de porco, and papas de milho, all accompanied by musical entertainment.
Friday's program, October 2nd, includes the official opening with the Clube da Batucada da Casa do Povo de S. B. Messines and a performance by Luís Godinho.
On Saturday, October 3rd, there will be a workshop “Venha Aprender a Fazer Papas de Milho” (Come Learn to Make Corn Mash), a dance with João Paulo Cavaco, and a concert by Quina Barreiros.
The final day, Sunday, October 4th, features a hike along the region's trails, the workshop “Venha Aprender a Fazer Papas de Milho”, a performance by the Rancho Folclórico de Arraiolos, a dance with the Irmãos Cabanas, and closing the event, a performance by DJ MP80.
The Municipality of Silves invites families and gastronomy enthusiasts to discover the flavors of the municipality's interior in a convivial and lively atmosphere.
