A working meeting focused on the implementation of investments from the ALGARVE 2030 Regional Program and the fulfillment of financial commitments for 2026 brought together mayors, representatives of municipalities, municipal companies, and other regional entities.

The meeting aimed to monitor ongoing projects and assess the conditions necessary to accelerate their implementation within 2026. Participants included Mayors, municipal officials, heads of municipalities and municipal companies, from Águas do Algarve, the University of the Algarve, the Local Health Unit, AMAL, the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere, and Civil Protection.
The event was attended by the Secretary of State for Planning and Regional Development, Hélder Reis, the President and Executive Member of the ALGARVE 2030 Management Authority, José Apolinário and Aquiles Marreiros, respectively, and the President and Vice-President of the Agency for Development and Cohesion (AD&C), Cláudia Joaquim and Elisabete Quintas, respectively.
The session focused the discussion on the commitment of each public beneficiary to translate approved applications into effectively executed expenditure, identifying difficulties to be overcome.
By December 2026, beneficiaries of the ALGARVE 2030 Regional Program must submit expenditure corresponding to an additional 58 million euros in European funds, to ensure compliance with the N+3 rule and guarantee the continuity of supported investments.
Close monitoring of projects and cooperation between the Management Authority, AMAL, and other public beneficiary entities are crucial to ensure that investments proceed in a timely manner and that European funds effectively contribute to meeting the population's needs and promoting the sustainable development of the Algarve.
