The Municipal Libraries of Arganil and Côja hosted, on October 15th and 22nd, sessions on emotional literacy, as part of the “Emotions in Action” project.

The sessions, titled “The Strange Beauty of the Fragile – When we understand the invisible, we transform relationships”, were led by Paulinho de Oliveira, from the Associação Escola das Emoções. The aim was to provide moments of encounter and sharing, encouraging participants to explore their emotions and understand how they affect relationships with themselves and others.
Through stories, such as those of Anger and Sadness, and group dynamics, crucial topics were addressed, including how we value time, the importance of questioning and listening to others, and the tendency to judge people solely by their appearance, forgetting all that lies beyond the visible.
The experiences at the libraries highlighted the importance of empathy, active listening, and mutual understanding in building more authentic, conscious, and positive relationships.

This feedback reinforces the importance of promoting emotional literacy, contributing to individual and collective well-being and strengthening community relationships.

The impact of these initiatives was considered very positive, with participants expressing high satisfaction and a desire for future involvement. The Municipal Libraries of Arganil and Côja thus reaffirm their role as spaces for culture, learning, and personal development, essential for life in society.
