The initiative, organized by the Associação Desportiva, Cultural e Recreativa de Benquerença, was supported by the Parish Councils of Benquerença, Penamacor, Meimoa, and Três Povos, as well as the Bombeiros Voluntários de Penamacor (Volunteer Firefighters). The route started at the respective headquarters of the participating parishes, with hikers heading towards Serra de Santa Marta. The Vice-President of the Penamacor Municipal Council, Pedro Silveiro, was present at the event.
