The Mayor of Braga, João Rodrigues, inaugurated on Saturday the renovation of the Arcos Sports Complex and the exterior of the Parish Council building in Lomar, with a total investment of approximately 400,000 euros.

The ceremony was attended by the president of the Union of Parishes of Lomar and Arcos, Eduardo Fernandes. The mayor also visited Rua Souto Noval in Lomar, recently repaved through the municipal program Via a Via.
In Arcos, the renovation of the Sports Complex, with municipal support of around 77,000 euros, included the installation of synthetic turf for 5-a-side football, improved lighting, the placement of basketball hoops and backboards, and the refurbishment of changing rooms. Exterior walls and structures were also repaired and painted, a new irrigation system was installed, and a protective net was added to the wall to enhance safety for users.
“

"When the Municipality invests in these spaces, it is valuing what the population uses and feels is theirs. These interventions have a direct impact on the daily lives of those living in the Union of Parishes, whether in sports, in attending the Parish Council, or in mobility. We will continue to work in constant dialogue and with a rapid response to problems, so that Braga continues to improve throughout the municipality."

In Lomar, the renovation of the exterior of the Parish Council building, supported with approximately 157,000 euros, included the replacement of exterior window frames, adaptation of stairs and construction of ramps for improved accessibility, renewal of exterior pavements, and refurbishment of facades, gates, and railings. The building, which also houses the Cultural and Social Center of S. Pedro de Lomar, has gained better conditions for conservation, functionality, and image.
The repaving of Rua Souto Noval, with a municipal investment of around 155,000 euros, now offers better circulation conditions, with more safety and quality of life for those who pass by daily.

"We want all parishes in Braga to have quality equipment and public spaces, regardless of their size or location. This is the path the Municipality will continue to follow, with works designed for those who live and work in each territory."
