The auditorium of the Estarreja Municipal Library was the venue last week for a cycle of informative sessions focused on the “Emprego +” measures. The initiative, promoted by the Professional Insertion Office (GIP) of Estarreja in collaboration with the Institute of Employment and Professional Training (IEFP) of Aveiro, had the support of the local council.
At the opening session, the Mayor, Isabel Simões Pinto, highlighted the importance of collaboration between the municipality and the IEFP. "It is essential that institutions, companies, and people make the most of all the measures that this entity offers, ultimately providing employment opportunities to those in need," she stated. She emphasized that "what drives us is the well-being of citizens, and I believe that together, we are stronger, actively contributing to the social cohesion and economic growth of our region."
António Marques, director of the Aveiro Employment and Professional Training Centre, also present at the opening, praised the role of the IEFP and its coordination with municipalities. "This initiative is pioneering in the region, and I hope other municipalities will follow this path of proximity and dialogue with the community," he noted, commending the work of Estarreja's GIP.
The program, spread over two days, targeted different sectors of the community. On Tuesday, the 29th, the first session focused on the “MAIS Programme,” with an emphasis on the +Activation and +Inclusion measures, designed to promote socially necessary work for non-profit public or private entities in the municipality.
The following day, attention turned to “Hiring Support,” highlighting the +Emprego and +Talento programs. These tools were presented as crucial for creating stable jobs, with the main target audience being companies, private entities, and sole proprietors.
