The official handover ceremony took place at the Paços do Município Building in Póvoa de Varzim, presided over by the Secretary of State for Forests, Rui Ladeira. During this event, protocols were signed with 13 municipalities, with the ICNF represented by the Vice-president of the Management Board, Paulo Salsa. The tractors were financed through the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
The new equipment will improve the efficiency, safety, and quality of the work carried out by the Municipal Civil Protection Service, particularly in maintaining the forest road network, fuel management, rural fire prevention, and supporting interventions in the territory.
This reinforcement represents a step forward in valuing the work developed by the Municipal Civil Protection Service, providing better operating conditions and a more effective response to the needs of the Municipality.
The Municipality expresses special thanks to the Secretary of State for Forests, Rui Ladeira, and to the ICNF, for their collaboration and contribution to strengthening municipal resources, which are fundamental for the protection and enhancement of our territory.
