The Type 1 Diabetes Screening Campaign, promoted by the APDP in partnership with HSEIT and supported by the Municipal Chamber of Angra do Heroísmo, started yesterday at Praça Velha, in Angra do Heroísmo, as part of the European project EDENT1FI.

The initiative, aimed at children and young people aged 3 to 17, seeks to identify those at risk of developing Type 1 Diabetes early, allowing for timely monitoring and prevention of complications.
The campaign continues on October 28 at the Health Center of Praia da Vitória, and on October 29 at the Hospital de Santo Espírito da Ilha Terceira. Screening is also being conducted in educational institutions on Terceira island.
Families unable to participate during the campaign can undergo screening from November 1 onwards at the Pediatric External Consultation of the Hospital de Santo Espírito da Ilha Terceira, on Tuesdays between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Participation is voluntary and free.
