The Viana do Castelo Municipal Council has approved financial support of 59,400 euros for three parishes in the municipality, intended for mobility, road safety, and rolling stock projects.

The funds will be distributed to Mazarefes (39,500 euros) for the reconstruction of a rainwater line on Rua da Regadia; the Union of Parishes of Nogueira, Meixedo and Vilar de Murteda (15,000 euros) for the first phase of path paving; and Barroselas (4,900 euros) for tractor repairs.
The municipal executive reaffirmed its intention to continue a robust investment policy, carrying out actions and works for the construction of new roads, requalification of pavements and infrastructure, expansion of the cycle path and greenway network, and improvement of public transport.
To this end, the 2026 Activity and Budget Plan allocates over 9.46 million euros, aiming to enhance the safety levels of the municipality's road network and the quality of life for its citizens.
