The equipment handover took place in Sátão, during a ceremony attended by the Secretary of State for Forests, Rui Ladeira. The event involved ten municipalities from the CIM Viseu Dão Lafões region.
Within this initiative, a machinery transfer protocol was signed between the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF) and the Municipality of Nelas. This agreement aims to bolster the municipal resources available for fuel management and rural fire prevention.
This new equipment enhances the Municipality's intervention capacity within its territory, contributing to more effective prevention and the protection of its population and forests.
The local authority emphasizes that fire prevention is an ongoing process, carried out year-round, and that these new resources are essential for protecting the Nelas territory.
