On September 14th, council members of the Parish Council of Santo António dos Olivais, Carla Agostinho and João Gaspar, conducted a visit to the University of Free Time (UTL) of ANAI. The meeting was attended by the President and Treasurer of the institution's Board.
The main objectives of the visit were to learn about the facilities, the work developed in its various areas, and the projects promoted by this Private Social Solidarity Institution, as well as to understand the functioning of the UTL. There has been an increase in demand for the UTL, which currently has approximately 300 registered individuals for the 17 disciplines offered.
During the visit, ongoing intervention and requalification works were observed at the building, which suffered significant roof damage due to a tree falling as a result of Storm Kristin. Repair work, aimed at resolving leaks on several floors, is underway and is expected to be completed before the start of classes, scheduled for early October.
Other institutional needs were also identified, particularly concerning its vehicle fleet. The age of a large part of the fleet highlights the need for progressive renewal to ensure the continuity and quality of services.
The Parish Council of Santo António dos Olivais reaffirmed its commitment to closely monitor the work of local institutions, valuing their important contribution to the community and seeking to strengthen proximity and cooperation with the local associative and social movement.
