The Municipality of Mortágua is promoting, from October 30th to November 1st, 2026, the XVII Lampantana Weekend, celebrating one of its most emblematic gastronomic traditions with the participation of 13 restaurants.

The initiative returns for its 17th edition, aiming to value traditional gastronomy, promote local products and flavors, and encourage conviviality at the table. Lampantana, made with sheep meat slowly roasted in a wood-fired oven, is a culinary highlight of Mortágua, reflecting a traditional know-how passed down through generations.
With ancient origins linked to the municipality's rural life, Lampantana has become an important tourist product, attracting thousands of visitors. In the 2025 edition, approximately 3500 portions were served, demonstrating the continued interest in the event.
The event offers an opportunity to discover Mortágua through its gastronomy, valuing local products and the experiences that define the territory's identity. Lampantana, present in celebratory moments, is a dish enjoyed year-round.
This year, 13 participating restaurants feature Lampantana on their menus, with take-away options available at several establishments. Accompanying the meal, local Dão red wine will be served. There will also be a raffle for a special Lampantana wine box and a 60-euro voucher.
Interested individuals can consult the full list of restaurants and their contact details on the official initiative website, at www.lampantana.pt.
