Viseu Novo SRU is launching a series of information sessions this week on incentives and tax benefits for urban rehabilitation within the Urban Rehabilitation Areas (ARU) of the Viseu municipality.

The first sessions will take place on October 28th and 30th, in Cavernães and Vila Chã de Sá, respectively. These events, organized in partnership with the Parish Councils, are free of charge and aim to inform property owners about the advantages of renovating their buildings.
Technicians from Viseu Novo SRU will address issues such as the exemption from paying IMI (Municipal Property Tax) for 3 years after the completion of renovation works, and the possibility of accessing municipal financial support for the restoration of facades and walls.
The session in Cavernães is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28th, at 5:00 PM, at the Parish Council building, focusing on the Alvelos ARU. The second session will be held on October 30th, at 9:00 PM, in the Parish Hall of Vila Chã de Sá, covering the Faíl and Vila Chã de Sá ARUs.
Other incentives will also be discussed, including VAT rate reductions, IRS (Personal Income Tax) deductions, IMT (Property Transfer Tax) rate reductions, and exemptions or reductions on municipal fees. Future sessions will be announced through the official channels of the Municipality of Viseu and Viseu Novo SRU.
These initiatives aim to promote the recovery of existing buildings, enhance heritage value, and revitalize urban centers within the ARUs by clarifying the benefits associated with urban rehabilitation for property owners.
