Dozens of pilgrims marked the return of the Portuguese Way of St. James of León de Rosmithal to Murça, covering part of the municipality and being welcomed with blessings and stamps.

Around 70 walkers covered, this afternoon, part of the municipality of Murça, as part of a hike along the Portuguese Way of St. James of León de Rosmithal, crossing territories of the parishes of Candedo, Noura and Palheiros and Murça.
The group was welcomed at the Murça Tourist Office by the Vice-President of the Municipal Chamber, José Santos, where participants had the opportunity to stamp their pilgrimage passports.
During the meeting, the mayor announced that signage identifying the route will soon be installed in the territory, reinforcing the valorization and promotion of this Jacobean itinerary.
The Portuguese Way of St. James of León de Rosmithal crosses 12 municipalities and aims to promote historical and cultural heritage, landscape, and local communities, affirming Murça as a territory of passage and hospitality.
The initiative included a symbolic moment at Praça 5 de outubro, where the Vice-President of the Municipal Chamber and the participants joined the Parish Priest of Murça, Padre Ricardo Machado, for the blessing of the walkers' backpacks.
This historical itinerary recovers the passage, in the summer of 1466, of the retinue of León de Rosmithal, Baron of Blatna, during his journey to Santiago de Compostela, reinforcing Murça's identity as a territory of welcome.
