The Municipality of Murça received national recognition for its Summer Holiday Camp during the fourth edition of the Cidade Social Congress, which took place in Portimão on October 1st and 2nd. This distinction celebrates the positive impact, program quality, and the municipality's commitment to supporting the children, youth, and families of the county.
The municipal representation at the event included José Santos, Vice-President of the Murça Municipal Chamber, and Bruno Guerra, Head of the Youth, Education, and Sports Unit (UJED).
José Santos, Vice-President of the Municipality, expressed immense pride in the award, viewing it as a reflection of the continuous work in social and educational areas. "This national recognition is a source of great pride for our county and demonstrates the excellence of the work we do daily for our children and young people," he stated. He further emphasized that "the Summer Holiday Camp is more than just a leisure activity; it is an educational, inclusive project with strong social cohesion." He reiterated the municipality's dedication to "continuing to invest in proximity public policies that truly make a difference in the quality of life for Murça's families."
The Cidade Social Congress is an annual event that brings together specialists, policymakers, and technicians to discuss and award the best municipal practices in social intervention, youth, sports, and citizenship.
