The investment, which includes around €45,000 for digital public information panels and €71,500 for signage, aims to provide clearer and more accessible information about the public transport service across the region's six municipalities.
This initiative comes amid growing demand, with the public transport network carrying 711,298 passengers in 2025, a 15% increase compared to 2024. The investment also complements the installation of 251 bus stop identification signs and the replacement of existing infrastructure.
Bus stops are essential points in the network, and improving their identification, available information, and waiting conditions aims to ensure greater safety, comfort, and ease of use for daily commuters.
Both interventions are funded by the Incentive Program for Public Collective Passenger Transport, Incentiva+TP, which supports measures to promote collective transport, including the modernization of information systems and the upgrading of stops.
Through these investments, CIM Alto Tâmega and Barroso continues to enhance its public transport network, striving to make the service more accessible, functional, and tailored to the needs of residents, workers, and students in the territory.
