This municipal intervention focuses on improving public spaces, aiming to optimize the conditions for accessibility, circulation, and use of this crucial area of the town. The area adjacent to the Ponte de Lima Health Center is of great importance due to its daily use by patients and health professionals.
The project includes the elimination of architectural barriers, with the creation of sidewalks at least 1.5 meters wide. Crossings will be adapted to accessibility standards for people with reduced mobility, using yellow colored concrete and blue granite curbs, with lowered sections to road level.
A central element of the work is the complete redesign of the parking lot supporting the ULSAM, which will offer 126 parking spaces. The reorganization of the area will incorporate tree planting to create shaded zones and improve thermal comfort.
Through this initiative, the Municipality of Ponte de Lima intends to create a more qualified, accessible, and functional environment, enhancing the usability of a public space vital to the population.
