The Ponte de Lima Fair and Exhibition Pavilion hosted the Health and Wellness Expo, promoted by the Municipality on October 10th and 11th. The event served as a meeting point between the community, professionals, and entities from the health, sports, and well-being sectors, aiming to encourage healthy lifestyle habits and raise public awareness about the importance of physical and emotional health.
The exhibition space featured stands from gyms, clinics, the Volunteer Firefighters, and educational institutions. The diverse program included workshops and ateliers on health, physical activity classes, talks by specialists, first aid sessions, a showcooking event focused on healthy eating, and social gatherings for the whole family.
Outdoor activities complemented the event. Lethes Move-te organized activities in the historic center of the town, with the participation of 273 members from the Scout and Guide Groups of Ponte de Lima. Younger attendees could also try the climbing wall at the Adventure Center and participate in the horse riding baptism promoted by the Equestrian Center of the Lima Valley.
At the inauguration, the Councillor for Social Development, Family, Inclusion, and Health of the Municipality of Ponte de Lima, Lúcia Soares Pereira, highlighted the role of the institutions. "We wanted to mobilize institutions from various sectors linked to health, sports, youth, and well-being. The main objective of this event is to promote health, well-being, and healthy lifestyle habits," she stated.
Through the Health and Wellness Expo, the Municipality of Ponte de Lima reaffirms its commitment to promoting the health and quality of life of its population, focusing on prevention, knowledge sharing, and fostering connections between the community and the entities that work daily for everyone's well-being.
