The multipurpose hall of the Escola Secundária de Ponte da Barca was filled for a night of musical celebration, where iconic themes of Portuguese music gained new voices and energy. The protagonists were the students and teachers of the Ponte da Barca Music Academy.
The event, held as part of the World Music Day commemorations, brought together students from the Free and Articulated regimes, teachers, and the Academy's orchestra. The repertoire included memorable Portuguese songs, performed by a new generation of musicians.
One of the highlights was the special participation of Nequinha, co-author of “Foi Ver a Minha Barca da Janela,” who performed the song linked to the identity of Ponte da Barca. The Marcha de Ponte da Barca also featured prominently.
The audience responded enthusiastically, with the hall filled with families, friends, and the school community, who attended a night dedicated to showcasing the daily work developed at the Music Academy.
The event was attended by the President of the Câmara Municipal, Augusto Marinho, councilwoman Rosa Arezes, and representatives from the Agrupamento de Escolas de Ponte da Barca, among other entities.
