The Viana do Castelo Municipal Council was present at the ceremony for the delivery and blessing of a new tractor to the Areosa Parish Council. The acquisition, which received municipal support of 70,000 euros, was blessed by Father Torres Lima at the porch of the Parish Church of Santa Maria de Vinha, in Areosa.
The Councillor for Social Cohesion, Carlota Borges, highlighted the Municipality's willingness to collaborate with the parish, acknowledging the effort to keep roads and streets clean and ensure the cleanliness of public spaces. "This tractor will help in this mission", she stated.
The President of the Areosa Parish Council, Filomena Rolo, recognized that the new vehicle will allow for more effective work, being an urgent necessity as the previous tractor was obsolete.
This investment demonstrates the municipality's commitment to territorial cohesion, the valorization of parishes, the improvement of mobility conditions, the qualification of public space, and the reinforcement of proximity services directed at the population.
For the territorial cohesion section, the council's Activity and Budget Plan foresees 9.46 million euros, out of a total global budget exceeding 220 million euros.
