The agreement aims to continue support for families and arises from cooperation agreements between Social Security and Private Institutions of Social Solidarity (IPSS). The ceremony was attended by the Mayor, Olegário Gonçalves, and Councilwomen Marlene Barros and Angélica Costa.
The Padreiro Daycare, located in a business area with hundreds of employees, was expanded with the municipality's support, and is now able to accommodate nearly 100 children. The Mayor highlighted the space's privileged location, which meets a need for families, allowing children to be close to their workplaces.
The protocol was signed by the Provedor of the Arcuense Santa Casa, Francisco Araújo, and the Director of Social Security of Viana do Castelo, Orlando Antunes. Also present were the Coordinator of the Padreiro Daycare, staff, and members of the Misericórdia de Arcos de Valdevez.
The daycare's expansion, part of Operation PRR-RE-CO3-i01-04-000256, was co-financed by the European Fund under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, with a community contribution of €126,000.00.
