The Municipality of Góis has once again been awarded the "Living in Equality" Award for the 2026-2027 biennium, a recognition from the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG).

The distinction, awarded by the CIG, recognizes municipalities that implement good practices in integrating gender equality, citizenship, and non-discrimination in their local policies and community relations.
The award ceremony took place on October 26 at the Casa da Música in Porto. The Municipality of Góis was represented by Councillor Paula Matos and the Deputy Head of the Office of Support to the Presidency, Inês Bandeira.
Góis joins the group of 56 municipal councils distinguished in this 8th edition, which awarded a total of 57 local authorities, including one parish council. In the previous edition (2024-2025), the municipality had already received the same award.
The award, promoted biennially by the CIG since 2012, aims to distinguish the work of local authorities in integrating the gender perspective in governance, services, and local initiatives.
