The Project 3S (Knowledge, Health, Flavor) is reaching approximately 2,000 preschool children in the public network of Seixal, aiming to promote healthy eating habits and food literacy in a playful and inclusive manner.

Throughout the 2026-2027 school year, the initiative promoted by the Seixal Municipal Council seeks to develop skills for healthier food choices, following the guidelines of the Mediterranean Diet. The project began in October, coinciding with World Food Day.
The program is conducted by a kindergarten educator and a municipal nutritionist, who visit the kindergartens. During 40-minute sessions, children are encouraged through games, challenges, and stories to try new flavors and continue learning at home with an educational card game. Each classroom also receives a giant Food Wheel as visual support.
The project, specifically designed for the preschool age group, focuses on daily fruit consumption, the importance of water, and discovering new tastes. Although families do not participate directly in the activities, their involvement is promoted through the sharing of educational materials and questionnaires that assess the project's impact.
This initiative is part of Seixal's Municipal Educational Plan (PEM).
