The election process for academic community representatives to the Assembly that will create the new Statutes of the Polytechnic University of Setúbal (UNIPS) is underway. Career faculty, researchers, students, and technical, specialist, and management staff can submit their candidacies individually.
Candidacies must be submitted at the Rector's Support Office or the Secretariat of the respective School by 5:00 PM on October 9th. The electoral act is scheduled for October 22nd, aiming to elect representatives from the different bodies of the academic community. These elected individuals will join the Assembly along with external personalities of recognized merit.
The Assembly's primary mission will be to draft and approve the new UNIPS Statutes. This document is considered fundamental for defining the institution's organization, functioning, and governance model as a university.
This process offers an opportunity for collective reflection on UNIPS's identity and future, going beyond the legal requirement of the new Legal Regime for Higher Education Institutions. It aims to actively involve the academic community in defining the foundations for a new phase of the institution.
