The Serrado Park in Amora will host the Amora Pet Fest on October 18th, an event dedicated to animal welfare that is expected to draw hundreds of participants and their dogs.

The event, organized by the Amora Parish Council in partnership with the Seixal Municipal Council and the Salsichas em Movimento community, expands the previous Salsichas em Movimento gathering, promoted by Érica Mendes and her Dachshund Luffy. The initiative, which began with a walk at Baía do Seixal, now takes the form of a full festival, open to all sociable dogs.
The venue opens at 10:30 AM, followed by a morning walk at 11:00 AM. Throughout the day, attendees can witness a security dog demonstration by the Public Security Police (PSP), an obedience class from the Adventure Dogs School, and visit over 15 brands and entities from the veterinary and animal welfare sector. There will also be a mobile pet care unit offering exclusive discounts from Ginga Petcare, a caricature studio, a photobooth area, musical entertainment, and a picnic space.
Starting at 4:00 PM, themed contests will be held with categories such as "Maior Salsicha" (Biggest Dachshund) and "Melhor Outfit" (Best Outfit). The festival also focuses on raising awareness for responsible pet ownership and animal adoption, with a collection of goods and donations for the Zoophile Associations of the Seixal municipality and the presence of several local animal protection associations.
Entry is free upon prior online registration via the official project platform Salsichas em Movimento. The organization reminds attendees of the mandatory use of leashes and calls for responsible pet ownership to maintain the cleanliness of the public space.
