The Polytechnic Institute of Santarém (IPSantarém) continues to focus on a strategy centered on the connection between academic knowledge, companies, startups, innovation networks, and territories, reinforcing its role as an agent of development and creator of new opportunities.
In this context, the university hosted BioFlower PT, a company dedicated to medicinal cannabis for the pharmaceutical industry. The meeting aimed to deepen understanding of the company's activities and identify potential points of contact with Santarém's academic, scientific, and territorial ecosystem.
On the same day, during the Cascais International Health Forum, ties were also strengthened with TechBalance, a Brazilian startup led by Fabiana Almeida. The company operates in the areas of Wellness Care and Active Aging and chose Santarém to test its product in a real-world context. This solution is already used by approximately 100,000 users in Brazil and is referenced in five Brazilian health systems.
This connection was established through NGUZU, with the involvement of Tiago Cardoso and Paula Barros, highlighting the importance of cooperation networks in bridging institutions, companies, knowledge, and different geographies.
These contacts reflect a shared strategic vision: to bring the University closer to innovation ecosystems, promote knowledge transfer, stimulate new partnerships, and transform relationships into concrete opportunities for the territory.
The Polytechnic Institute of Santarém aims to consolidate itself as an increasingly open, connected, and present institution, strengthening Santarém's link to the national, European, Lusophone, and international context.
The goal is to connect knowledge, innovation, and territory to generate impact and development.
