A public session will mark the commencement of significant infrastructure works in Marco de Canaveses, with an investment of 6 million euros, on October 6th.

The signing ceremony for the Consignation Deed for the Agrela and Constance Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) construction, as well as for the public water supply and sewage networks in the parishes of Vila Boa de Quires, Maureles, and Constance, will take place on October 6th at 6 PM. This public event aims to signal the start of crucial projects for the region.
With a global investment of 6 million euros, these two structural works promise to provide universal access to drinking water and basic sanitation for approximately 2500 residents of these parishes. The President of the Municipal Chamber of Marco de Canaveses, Cristina Vieira, invites the public to participate in this significant moment.
The construction of the Agrela WWTP is scheduled for completion within 455 days. In parallel, the implementation of the public water and sewage networks has an execution deadline of 730 days for their operational start. The network project includes the creation of a water supply system fed by a reservoir in the final stages of construction at Alto de Quires.
Additionally, a system for collecting and transporting wastewater via gravity collectors will be developed, directing effluents to the new WWTP. The project also encompasses the construction of a rainwater drainage system in areas deemed vital for the municipality, aiming to improve urban water management.
