The month kicks off on October 1st with the VI Environment Forum in Trofa, focusing on the theme “Restoration and Conservation of Riparian Ecosystems”. The event takes place between 09:30 and 13:00 at the Auditorium of Fórum Trofa XXI.
On the same day, at 18:00, the Casa do Conhecimento, located in the Former Trofa Railway Station, hosts “Conversas de Saúde: Descomplicar o Cancro da Mama” (Health Talks: Simplifying Breast Cancer). This literacy session, aimed at the general community, seeks to improve understanding of the disease and the importance of prevention and early diagnosis, running until 19:30.
The Casa da Cultura da Trofa (House of Culture) hosts on October 2nd, at 21:30, “Conta-me Histórias…” (Tell Me Stories…), an intimate conversation-concert format featuring singer-songwriter Luísa Sobral.
The promotion of books and reading continues with the initiative “Ouvir Histórias… na BMT” (Listening to Stories… at BMT), aimed at preschoolers and 1st Cycle students, on October 6th, 9th, 13th, 16th, 20th, and 23rd, at 10:00.
The Pink October program continues on October 8th with the action “Cancro da Mama: sensibilização para a prevenção e diagnóstico precoce” (Breast Cancer: awareness for prevention and early diagnosis), throughout the day, directed at secondary school students from the Agrupamento de Escolas de Coronado e Castro.
The Bebeteca (Baby Library) returns on October 10th with sessions at 11:00 at the Parish Council of São Romão do Coronado and at 16:00 at the Municipal Library of Trofa, for babies and children up to three years old, encouraging early contact with books.
On October 11th, at 08:30, the Commented Walk along the Way of St. James of Trofa will take place. Starting from the Chapel of São Gonçalo in Covelas and ending at the Lagoncinha Bridge in Lousado, the 7.5-kilometer route combines heritage valorization with environmental protection, including waste collection along the path, in partnership with TrofAmbiente.
The Auditorium of Fórum Trofa XXI will host the VI Jornadas do Outubro Rosa – ULS Médio Ave (VI Pink October Conference – ULS Médio Ave) on October 15th, themed “Breast Cancer: Integrating Care, Improving Results”, from 09:00 to 17:00.
The Community of Readers will meet on October 21st, at 17:30, at the Casa do Conhecimento, in the Former Trofa Station, for another moment of meeting and sharing around books and reading.
A new action “Cancro da Mama: sensibilização para a prevenção e diagnóstico precoce” will take place on October 22nd, throughout the day, directed at secondary school students from the Agrupamento de Escolas da Trofa.
Inclusion and equal opportunities will be highlighted on October 23rd, at 15:30, at the Fórum Trofa XXI, with the reflection session “Diferentes realidades, diferentes necessidades – Um Caminho para a Inclusão” (Different realities, different needs – A Path to Inclusion), aiming to promote reflection and contribute to a more inclusive society.
