The UPFit Pink October program, from the Sports Centre of the University of Porto (CDUP-UP), returns with a series of sports and solidarity activities to raise awareness about breast cancer prevention. Under the motto “Energy that inspires, prevention that transforms”, the initiative aims to promote health and the adoption of active lifestyles throughout the month of October.
The initiative kicks off on October 15th, at 6:00 PM, with a mega class combining Zumba, Workout, and Pilates at CDUP-ICBAS/FFUP, led by instructors Mariana Pinto and Patrícia Videira. On the same day and time, a walk followed by a Yoga session will take place at CDUP-FADEUP, guided by instructor Núria Ferreira.
On October 22nd, at 7:00 PM, CDUP-FADEUP will host a mega Hydrogymnastics class, conducted by instructors Joana Rocha and Rita Ferreira. For all activities, the dress code suggests wearing pink, in tribute to the international symbol of the fight against breast cancer.
The solidarity aspect of the program includes a walk with registration costing 8 euros (including a t-shirt from the Portuguese League Against Cancer - LPC) or 5 euros (without a t-shirt). Other activities cost 3.50 euros for the U.Porto community and 4.90 euros for external participants. UPFit members participate for free.
All proceeds from registrations and the sale of LPC merchandise, available at CDUP-UP facilities, will be fully donated to the Portuguese League Against Cancer. Registrations are available online.
