The Ombudsman urgently requested from the National Directorate of the Public Security Police (PSP) a set of information and documents regarding the police operation launched in the early hours of October 15 in Praça D. João I, in Porto, during a demonstration.

The demonstration, titled «For the Principle of the Dignity of the Human Person; for the Right to Housing and for Freedom of Expression and Information», was the scene of the police intervention that will now be analyzed. The Ombudsman intends to assess the compatibility of the police action with the fundamental right to assembly and demonstration.
