The meeting, held at the Multiusos de Gondomar, gathers healthcare professionals, decision-makers, academics, and institutional partners to discuss the challenges and future of Primary Care, emphasizing more accessible, closer, and people-centered responses.
The opening session, titled “Pact for Health,” was attended by the President of the Municipal Chamber of Gondomar, Luís Filipe Araújo, the Councillor for Health, José Fernando Moreira, the Dean of the Order of Physicians, Carlos Cortes, and the Member of the Management Council of the Executive Directorate of the National Health Service, Ana Correia de Oliveira.
Over the two days, the program includes round tables, debates, thematic and training sessions, scientific presentations, and the sharing of best practices. Key topics cover the organization and valorization of USFs, the sustainability of Primary Care, coordination between different levels of care, community health, professional training, and digital transformation.
The initiative highlights the link between health and territory, valuing the role of schools, associations, and neighborhood networks in health promotion. Citizen participation and collaboration between the health, social, and municipal sectors are considered fundamental for identifying needs and developing responses tailored to each community's reality.
By hosting this meeting, the Municipality of Gondomar reinforces its commitment to dialogue and cooperation among territorial stakeholders, recognizing that health promotion requires proximity, prevention, and a shared commitment.
The meeting continues this Friday, October 17, at the Multiusos de Gondomar, with new sessions dedicated to the challenges of Primary Care and the National Health Service.
